SYNOPSIS

This is an action and drama South African short film that takes place during the 2021 rioting in Kwa-Zulu-Natal. The story follows Buhle who is the chiefs wife as she plans a heist in order to help her village people, we follow her journey where she mends her relationship with her sister but also risks her marriage. She has to make the right decision or she could loose everything. She comes from a very abusive background which influences her timid nature but as the film progresses we see her bloom into a powerful women.

Why this story?

This film was made to comment on the state of the people during the 2021 rioting in Kwa Zulu Natal. It was made to show how desperate people got for food. It also commented on Domestic abuse  in South African homes  We use the film to spread awareness for both issues.

Production info:

All crew members are AFDA students .The film is their final project, they get marked by their audience. 

AFDA is an institute that trains aspiring artists in their chosen discipline of Film.
There are four campuses in South Africa. AFDA Durban students are producing this film.
